About Me....

Originally from Britain, my adoptive home is now France having first come here over 30 years ago. After 15 years working in Paris I moved to the North West; to Brittany. During  this time I played around with my art; making sketches and watercolour paintings, none of which were very good!

Covid changed many thing for many people and during the lockdown I started sketching in ink again and for the first time teamed the inks with watercolours. I liked the effect this produced. This encouraged me to explore and I slowly meandered my way through acrylics, pastels and finally printing.

Finding this method of creating was a great discovery for me. I  went back to lino (not touched since school days) to do relief printing. I learned about an intaglio printmaking method, drypoint, which I loved doing; scratching away to make images not so different to pen on paper.   I discovered printing with a gelatine plate which is a relatively new method and very different to all the others. I often use the resulting papers from these sessions to do Trace monotypes.

Suffice to say this has been a very rewarding experience and by nature, very hit and miss!
